Around 9:35 a.m. A 2006 Toyota was heading west on State Route 203 when it drove off the south shoulder of the road and struck a tree.

The Man was airlifted to Albany Medical Center with chest trauma, a torn diaphragm and a broken leg.

According to the NYS Police,he had swerved to avoid an animal in the road.
